필요 이상으로 길고 복잡하거나 쓸데없는 절차나 과정. 종종 서류나 말이 많을 때 사용한다.

주로 일상 대화에서 사용되며 번거롭고 불필요한 일을 비판할 때 쓴다. 'go through the rigamarole'처럼 자주 쓰인다.
