কোনো নিয়ম ভঙ্গ বা দায়িত্ব পালনে ব্যর্থ হলে কোনো কিছু হারানো বা কেড়ে নেওয়া।

আইনগত, খেলার মাঠ বা আনুষ্ঠানিক পরিস্থিতিতে ব্যবহৃত হয়, যেমন 'forfeited rights' বা 'forfeited deposit'। সাধারণ ক্ষতির জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয় না।
