誰かに無視されたり、そっけなく拒絶されたり、理由もなく冷たく対応されることをいいます。

主に人間関係や仕事で使います。「give someone the brushoff」は冷たくあしらう、「get a brushoff」は冷たくあしらわれる、という意味です。
