判事や権限のある組織が、法律や正式な事柄について公式に決定を下すこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に法廷や正式な決定権を持つ人・団体に使う表現です。「rule on」は普段の意思決定には使いません。

The judge will rule on the case tomorrow.
