やるべきことをいい加減に、あまり努力せずに済ませること。しっかり取り組まず、適当に終わらせる感じ。

日常会話で使われるやや否定的な表現。「手を抜く」は仕事や勉強などできちんとやらずに最低限だけやるときによく使う。
