試験やテストのために真剣に勉強を始めること。カジュアルな場面で使われる表現です。

口語的な表現で、友達やクラスメートとの会話で使います。実際に本を叩く意味ではありません。'hit the sack'（寝る）と間違えないよう注意しましょう。
