কাউকে খুব বেশি চমকে দেওয়া বা বিস্মিত করার কাজ, যাতে সে অবিশ্বাস বা বিস্ময়ে পড়ে যায়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Astonish' সাধারণত আনুষ্ঠানিক বা সাহিত্যিক ভাষায় ব্যবহৃত হয়; 'surprise' বা 'amaze'-এর চেয়ে বেশি শক্তিশালী। 'was astonished', 'astonished by news' ইত্যাদিতে সচরাচর দেখা যায়।
