壁や乗り物にある、外を見たり光・空気を取り入れるためのガラスつきの開口部です。限られた短い時間のチャンスを表す場合もあります。

「窓」は家や乗り物、パソコン画面の「ウィンドウ」として使う。慣用句「ウィンドウ・オブ・オポチュニティ」は「チャンスの期間」を意味する。
