Gerçekten olduğundan daha az önemli veya ciddi gösterecek şekilde bir şeyi ifade etme biçimi; genellikle mizah ya da etki yaratmak için kullanılır.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
İngilizcede özellikle ironik mizah için kullanılır. Önemli bir şeyi 'fena değil' diyerek küçümsemek gibi. 'euphemism' (örtmeceli ifade) ile karıştırmayın; bu, önemi küçültür.
