審判は、野球、クリケット、テニスなどの試合でルールが守られているか見守る人です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

野球・クリケット・テニスなどで使う。サッカーなど他のスポーツでは'referee'（レフェリー）を使う。会話では「アンパイア」と略すことも。

Examples

A tennis match cannot start without an umpire.
