Definition

受託者とは、他人の財産やお金、資産を管理するために選ばれた人や団体です。信託や公益団体などで使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

法律やビジネス、慈善団体で使われる正式な用語です。「board of trustees」（理事会）や「acting as a trustee」（受託者として活動する）などの表現でよく使われます。「trusty」（頼りになる）とは意味が異なります。受託者には法的な責任（fiduciary duties）があります。
