Bir kişinin bildiği veya doğru olduğuna inandığı bir şeyi, özellikle mahkemede, resmî şekilde söylemesi; genellikle tanık olarak bilgi vermek anlamında kullanılır.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
Resmî ve hukuki bir kelimedir; genellikle mahkemede delil sunmak ya da tanık olarak konuşmak için kullanılır. Gündelik hayatta pek kullanılmaz. 'testified in court' (mahkemede tanıklık etti), 'testified under oath' (yeminli ifade verdi) gibi kalıplar kullanılır.
