둘 이상의 것들을 동시에 일어나게 하거나, 여러 기기나 시스템 사이에서 정보를 맞추고 업데이트하는 것. IT에서 '싱크'는 '동기화'의 줄임말로 자주 사용된다.

'sync'는 IT와 일상 대화에서 자주 쓰임. 동사로는 '동기화하다', 명사로는 'in sync(동기화된 상태)'처럼 사용. 'sink(가라앉다)'와 혼동하지 않도록.
