규칙이나 조건을 엄격하게 따르는 방식. 때때로 '오로지' 또는 '단지'라는 뜻으로도 사용됨.

형용사 앞에서 'strictly necessary', 'strictly forbidden'처럼 자주 쓴다. 'strictly speaking'은 '엄밀히 말해서', 'strictly business'는 '오직 일만'의 의미이다.

The doctor said this medicine is strictly necessary.
