物やデータを種類や大きさ、色、名前などのルールに従ってグループ分けや並べ替えをすること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にITや学術分野で『ソート(仕分け)アルゴリズム』などとして使われる。日常会話でも『洗濯物の仕分け』などで使う。動詞ではない。
