Definition
El hollín es una sustancia negra y polvorienta que se forma cuando algo se quema, especialmente madera, carbón o petróleo. Suele acumularse en chimeneas o en las paredes cerca de fogatas.

"Soot" es incontable y se usa principalmente en contextos técnicos o del hogar. Se asocia con "chimenea", "limpiar hollín" y "fuego". No confundir con "ceniza", que es más clara y fina.
