Definition

軍隊がある場所を取り囲み、中の人々に降伏させようとする軍事作戦。絶え間ないプレッシャーや攻撃の状況にも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に歴史や軍事で使われる。比喩的に（質問攻め＝'a siege of questions'）にも使われる。'lay siege'（包囲する）などと一緒に使う。'seize'（奪う）とは違うので注意。
