Definition
Un obturador es un dispositivo que se abre y se cierra para dejar pasar la luz, comúnmente usado en cámaras para controlar cuánta luz entra. También puede referirse a una cubierta para ventanas que se puede abrir o cerrar.

En fotografía, 'shutter' se refiere principalmente a la parte de la cámara que controla la exposición ('shutter speed'). Para ventanas, 'shutter' equivale a 'persiana' o 'contraventana', más común en inglés británico. No confundir con 'blind' (persiana de láminas) o 'curtain' (cortina).
