Definition

يفتقر إلى المعنى أو الغرض أو السبب؛ بلا جدوى. يمكن أن يعني أيضاً فاقد الوعي، كما في حالة الإغماء.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

معنيان مختلفان: (1) بلا معنى/عبثي ('senseless violence'، 'senseless waste') و(2) فاقد الوعي ('beaten senseless'، 'knocked senseless'). المعنى الأول يحمل رفضاً شديداً.
