Definition

रेशों या अन्य सामग्री को मरोड़कर बनाई गई मोटी और मज़बूत डोरियाँ। इनका उपयोग बाँधने, खींचने, चढ़ने या चीज़ों को जगह पर रखने के लिए किया जाता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Ropes', 'rope' का बहुवचन है। सामान्य संयोजन हैं: 'jump rope', 'climbing rope', 'tie with ropes', और मुहावरा 'learn the ropes' (= काम करने का तरीका सीखना)। इसे पतले 'string' या 'thread' से अलग समझें।
