何かや誰かの代わりに別のものや人を使うこと。または、古い物や壊れた物、なくした物を新しい物にすること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「replace X with Y」は「XをYに取り替える」という意味。「replace X」は新しいものが明らかな場合に使う。主に壊れた物や古いシステム、人の交代、習慣の置き換えなどにも使われる。「change」とは違い、必ず一つが他のものに入れ替わる時に使う。
