कोई आधिकारिक नियम या क़ानून जो किसी चीज़ को नियंत्रित करता है। यह किसी चीज़ को नियमों के अनुसार नियंत्रित या प्रबंधित करने की क्रिया के लिए भी इस्तेमाल हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Regulation' 'rule' से अधिक औपचारिक और तकनीकी होता है। आमतौर पर सरकारी या औद्योगिक मानकों ('health regulations', 'safety regulations') के लिए उपयोग होता है। यह नियंत्रण की प्रक्रिया ('temperature regulation') भी बता सकता है। 'regular' या 'regulator' से न मिलाएँ।
