'Regulation' é mais formal e técnico do que 'rule'. Muito utilizado para normas governamentais ou industriais: 'health regulations', 'safety regulations'. Também pode referir-se ao ato de controlar ('temperature regulation'). Não confundir com 'regular' ou 'regulador'.
