Definition
কিছু করা থেকে নিজেকে থামানো বা নিজেকে আটকানো। গান সম্পর্কে, এটি হচ্ছে সেই অংশ যা বারবার গাওয়া হয়।
Usage Notes (Bengali)
'refrain' আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং বিজ্ঞপ্তি বা নির্দেশনায় দেখা যায়, যেমন 'Please refrain from...'. 'restrain' মানে কাউকে বা কিছু শারীরিকভাবে আটকানো, যা আলাদা। গান বা কবিতায়, এটি সাধারণত আবৃত্ত অংশ বোঝায়।
