Evitar hacer algo, especialmente algo que deseas hacer. Como sustantivo, es la parte de una canción que se repite después de cada estrofa.

'Refrain' es formal; muy usado en anuncios públicos o escritos como "Please refrain from...". Como sustantivo musical, significa el "estribillo". No confundir con 'restrain' (contener físicamente).
