豪雨は、突然短時間に強い雨が降る天気で、風を伴うことが多く、時に洪水や停電の原因となります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'豪雨' は通常、短時間で激しく降る雨を指します。'雷雨'（かみなりを伴う嵐）とは異なります。『激しい豪雨』『豪雨に遭う』などと使います。
