Definition

정보를 얻거나 의심을 드러내기 위해 질문하는 행동이나 태도. 경찰과 같은 공식적인 심문이나 어떤 생각·결정에 대한 의구심을 나타낼 때도 사용함.

Usage Notes (Korean)

'police questioning'은 경찰의 심문을 뜻함. 'a questioning look', 'a questioning voice'처럼 쓸 때는 의심이나 의문을 담은 의미가 됨. 단순한 질문이 아니라 의심, 추궁, 공식 조사 등의 뉘앙스가 있음.
