Definition

物を自分から離れるように動かしたり、ボタンなどを押すこと。また、人を行動するよう励ます意味もあり。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

物理的に押す時や、人を励ます時に使う。'push a door'や'push a button'はよく使う。'pull'は反対語。'give a push'は助ける意味も。
