自分が不当だと思うことに対して、公の場で強く反対する行動や発言をすること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に複数人による行動やデモに使われます。'protesting against'は「〜に抗議する」など、「〜について」「〜の前で」などと表現されます。単なる文句（complaining）とは異なり、より公式で集団的です。
