İngiliz İngilizcesinde, 'a packet of crisps' ifadesi kullanılırken, Amerikan İngilizcesinde 'bag of chips' denir. Bilişimde 'packet loss' ve 'data packet' sık geçer. İngilizce argo 'cost a packet'=çok pahalıya mal olmak.
