Definition

누군가를 공식적으로 직책, 상, 임무 등에 후보로 추천하거나 지정하는 것.

주로 공식 행사, 정치, 시상식 등에서 쓰는 격식 있는 단어입니다. 'nominate someone for/as...' 패턴으로 자주 사용되며, '선출하다(elect)'이나 '추천하다(recommend)'와는 다릅니다.
