Definition

巣とは、鳥や一部の動物が卵を産んだり子育てしたり休んだりするために作る場所や構造物です。また、何かが集まっている場所を指すこともあります。

最も一般的には鳥の「巣」を指します。「empty nest」は子供が巣立った家庭という比喩として使われます。「nest egg」は貯金という意味になります。「巣」は名詞としての使用が多いです。
