किसी हानि पर गहरा दुख अनुभव करना, विशेषकर किसी की मृत्यु पर। किसी भी मूल्यवान चीज़ — रिश्ते, जीवन शैली, युग — के खोने पर दुख जताने के लिए भी।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

"Be sad about" से अधिक औपचारिक और गहरा। "Mourn" एक लंबे शोक काल का संकेत देता है, न कि क्षणिक भावना का। सामान्य वाक्यांश: "mourn the loss of", "in mourning" (काले कपड़े पहनना, शोक अनुष्ठान)। सकर्मक ("mourn someone") या अकर्मक ("she mourns alone") हो सकता है।
