検死審問は、死因や異常な出来事の背景を明らかにするために裁判官や検視官によって行われる公式な法的調査です。

「検死審問」は主に法的な場面で使われ、突然死や原因不明の死を調査する際に用いられます。「investigation（調査）」や「inquiry（問い合せ）」ほど広い意味ではありません。「inquest into〜」や「inquestを開く」といった使い方に注意しましょう。
