誰かに正式またははっきりと情報やニュースを伝えること。重要な内容を伝える時によく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「inform」は「tell」よりもフォーマルです。「inform someone about something」や「inform someone that…」のパターンで使われます。お知らせや公式な文章、メールなどでよく使います。

Examples

Please inform the teacher if you are sick.

もし体調が悪い場合は、先生に**知らせて**ください。

We will inform you about the date tomorrow.

日付は明日**お知らせします**。

The doctor informed me that the test was normal.
