Kişi kararsız, düşünceli veya ne söyleyeceğinden emin olmadığında çıkardığı sestir. Genellikle tereddüt veya düşündüğünü gösterir.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
'hmm' ve 'ımm' yazılı ve sözlü diyaloglarda kullanılır, resmiyette tercih edilmez. Duygu tona göre düşünceli, şüpheli veya ikna olmamış hissi verebilir. Daha uzun 'hmmm' daha derin düşünce gösterir.

Hm, now that you mention it, I do remember her face.
