Definition

門は、庭や公園などの入口にある開閉できる仕切りです。空港では、ゲートは搭乗するために乗客が待つエリアを指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「門を開ける」「門を閉める」「門を通る」などの表現が使われます。空港では「搭乗ゲート」「ゲート12」などと言います。「ドア」とは異なる意味です。

Examples

The gates of the park close at 8 p.m.

公園の**門**は午後8時に閉まります。
