探したり偶然出会ったりして、ものや人を見つけること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「find」は探して見つけたときや、偶然見つけたときに使います（'find a key', 'find a solution' など）。「seek」はもっと積極的な探す意味になりますので区別しましょう。

I just found out she moved to another city.

彼女が別の町に引っ越したと今**知りました**。
