긍정적으로도, 부정적으로도 사용된다. 반복되는 일이나 불평에는 부정적 뉘앙스가, 가능성이나 기회와 함께 쓰이면 긍정적 의미가 강하다. 'an endless road'처럼 실제 길이 끝없음을 나타내기도 한다.
