Definition

布や布地を物の上にふわっと掛けて覆ったり飾ったりすること。また、布の垂れ下がり方や落ち感を指すこともある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に飾りやフォーマルな場面で使われる。'drape a blanket' は布をゆるく掛けるイメージ。'wrap' のようにぴっちり巻くのとは違う。米国英語ではカーテンを指す場合も。
