Definition

玄関の外や内側にある小さな段差やスペースで、特に家の正面玄関の付近を指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

郵便や宅配物を置く場所としてよく使われます。「on the doorstep」は「玄関先に」という意味。'threshold'（敷居）とは異なります。
