무엇의 방향이나 관심을 다른 곳으로 돌리거나 바꾸는 것을 의미한다. 문제를 피하거나 누군가의 주의를 분산시킬 때 쓴다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

‘divert traffic’, ‘divert attention’, ‘divert funds’와 같이 주로 쓰이고 ‘사람이 직접 방향을 바꿀 때’는 turn, 가다 등을 사용합니다. ‘오락시키다’의 의미는 매우 드뭅니다.
