“destroy” in Turkish
Definition
Bir şeyi o kadar zarar vermek ki artık var olamaz, çalışmaz ya da kullanılamaz hale gelir. Plan, ilişki veya güven gibi soyut şeyleri tamamen mahvetmek anlamına da gelir.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
'yok etmek' veya 'tahrip etmek', 'damage' veya 'zarar vermekten' daha ağır bir fiildir. 'destroy evidence', 'destroy someone's chance' gibi kalıplar yaygındır. Tıpkı İngilizcede olduğu gibi duygusal veya mecazi anlamda da kullanılabilir.
