يستخدم غالبًا في السياقات المالية أو الضريبية مثل 'deduct taxes' أو 'deduct expenses'. هو أكثر رسميةً من 'take off' أو 'subtract'. شائع مع 'deduct from' (salary, bill). لا تخلطه مع 'reduce' الذي يعني التقليل بشكل عام.
