मुख्यतः आधिकारिक, कानूनी या ऐतिहासिक संदर्भों में प्रयोग होता है। आमतौर पर 'सरकारी फ़रमान', 'राजा का फ़रमान' जैसे वाक्यांशों के साथ आता है। यह 'आदेश' से अधिक औपचारिक है।
