부조종사는 항공기에서 주조종사를 도와 필요할 때 직접 조종할 수 있는 두 번째 조종사입니다.

주로 항공 분야에서 쓰이며, 가끔 리더를 도와주는 사람을 비유적으로 표현할 때도 사용합니다. '조종사와 부조종사'라는 표현이 흔히 쓰입니다.
