“conscience” in Japanese

Definition

物事が道徳的に正しいか間違っているかを内側から知らせてくれる心の働き。悪いことをすると罪悪感を感じさせます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は単数形で使われます。「guilty conscience」は罪悪感、「clear conscience」は良心が咎めない状態。「意識（consciousness）」と混同しないよう注意。道徳的判断についての言葉です。
