কিছু জিনিস বা বিষয়কে একই ধরণের বৈশিষ্ট্যের ভিত্তিতে ভাগ করে যে দলে ফেলা হয়, সেটাই একটি শ্রেণী বা বিভাগ।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

সবসময় বহুবচনে ব্যবহার হয়: 'categories of books', 'different categories'। 'kind' বা 'type' থেকে একটু বেশি আনুষ্ঠানিক এবং ব্যবস্থা-ভিত্তিক অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
