「capture」の過去形。何かや誰かを捕まえる、写真や動画に収める、また気持ちや瞬間をしっかり表現・記録すること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

受け身（was captured）の形でよく使われます。写真・映像や気持ち・場面を「捉える」時にも使うので、単に「捕まえる」意味だけでなく幅広く使います。
