発信者は、電話をかけてくる人を指します。また、イベントで番号や指示を読み上げる人を指すこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

電話の発信者を表す場合がほとんどです。「Unknown caller」は知らない番号の発信者という意味です。ビンゴなどの進行役もこの語で表せます。

I didn't recognize the caller because the number was private.

番号が非公開だったので、**発信者**が誰かわかりませんでした。
